2D Animation Test - Sketchbook Pro 7 - Surface Pro 3

Really quick, really rough animation test using the not-so-new animation features in Sketchbook Pro 7. They're good but very basic. Creating high quality, simple animations are doable because the basic animation features are combined with the full weight of Sketchbook Pro 7's illustration features. With a bit of patience and some creative problem solving even animations that are a bit more complicated are possible. But I wouldn't push this aspect of the application that far until Autodesk provides an update. There are too many animation specific features that are missing.

Ironically, DeluxePaint on the Amiga systems of the 80's and early 90's provided better 2D animation tools than many animation programs available today even though those systems didn't even have 1/3 of the power of our smartphones. Newer isn't always better.

Sketches Sketches Sketches - Sketchbook Pro 7 - Surface Pro 3

03/25/2016 - March seems to be my burnout month. I'm not sure why but for the last two years I've struggled maintaining focus in March. To compensate for this I took a bit of a break this year and started sketching more familiar characters to find my way back to a regular creative schedule and rebuild confidence.

WIP - Sketchbook Pro 7 - Surface Pro 3 WIP

WIP Update - I worked on this a bit more and tried some new things with the clouds and background. I'm still playing with the colors and details too.
